Bath and Blow Dry
A range of shampoos and conditioners are available, which is used for your dogs' specific coat type. Once shampooed we rinse your dog in clean water and towel dried before being blow dried.
Styling
Using well maintained modern equipment and tools to style your dog including the best clippers and scissors available to get the perfect finish on your dogs coat.
Nails & Ear Check
All dogs who come in for a groom get their nails checked and if necessary trimmed. Ears are checked for hair and dirt, and are plucked and cleaned as required.
Perfume or Cologne & Ribbon
Each dog receives a complementary squirt of dog perfume or cologne to keep them sweet smelling for several weeks. A beautiful hand-made ribbon is placed on your dog's collar to provide the "icing on the cake".
Cancellation Policy
24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments is required. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, it may be given to someone else. There is a £5.00 charge if you do not turn up for your appointment.
FAQs
Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes, an appointment has to be made. Precious Pooches is open Mon - Sat. To avoid disappointment make the appointment 1-2 weeks before your dog needs grooming.
How long does it take do groom my dog?
It can take anything between an hour to four hours, it depends on the condition of the dogs coat, it's behaviour and breed. In some cases where the coat is really matted/knotty, the grooming may take over four hours on certain breeds.
Will my dog be muzzled?
The majority of dogs are not muzzled. If the dog shows any signs of aggression, it's for the dog's protection and our safety to muzzle the dog. The muzzle is immediately removed if the dog shows any signs of distress.
Can I stay with my dog?
We find that dogs get easily distracted if their owner stays, so we don't usually allow the owner to stay.
My dog has to be sedated is that ok?
We do not give dogs sedatives but if your vet prescribes one you can give it to your dog approximately 30 minutes before the groom. Please ensure you tell us if your dog has been sedated.
What does the groom include?
All grooms include brushing, bathing, drying, ears, eyes and nail care. Clipping and scissoring is also included depending on the breed.
Do you do anal glands?
Yes we do anal glands for an extra £5.00.
Can I just have my dog's nails cut?
Yes it costs £5.00.
Will my dog be put in a cage?
For the safety and well being of your dog we do put your dog in a cage.
Do you groom cats or other animals?
No, we only do dogs.
My dog hates other dogs what can I do?
Please let us know so we can arrange a quiet time for an appointment, without other dogs in the salon.
Can I bring a shampoo prescribed by my vet?
Yes you can as long as there are clear instructions for us to follow.
What if my dog has fleas?
Dogs found with fleas will immediately be bathed in flea shampoo to kill all the fleas on the dog (note there is an additional charge for this as flea shampoo is much more expensive) We will then advise you on how to treat your pet and environment.

No sorry.
